Races on the Storebælt Bridge on the first two Saturdays in September

On Saturday 4 September and Saturday 11 September, races will take place on the Storebælt Bridge. Although the bridge will be open, journey times will be longer.

Bike race on Saturday 4 September

On Saturday 4 September 2021, an exercise bike race will be held between Aarhus and Copenhagen. The route will cross the Storebælt Bridge.

During the bike race, there will be two lanes of normal traffic with a 110 km/h speed limit towards Fyn. Towards Zealand, there will only be one lane available for traffic and a speed limit of 80 km/h. During this period, the slow lane and emergency lane will be dedicated to the bike race.

Bridge race on Saturday 11 September

On Saturday 11 September, the Storebælt Bridge Race will take place between Korsør and Nyborg. The race will use the two southernmost lanes towards Fyn.

During the race, a contraflow system will operate on the two northern lanes, and the road’s status will be downgraded from a motorway to an ordinary national road with an 80 km/h speed limit.

Leave plenty of time

The two races are expected to take place between 13:00 and 20:00. We therefore recommend that you travel outside of these times. Otherwise, leave well in advance if you have to travel during the race.
