Scary fun in the autumn

Planning on taking an autumn holiday? And do you like scary things? If so, there are lots of things you can head for all over Denmark.

Scary stuff at ‘Hospitalet’ (the hospital) in Tivoli

There’s no Halloween without scary stuff! And that’s true for Tivoli as well. Have you ever asked yourself whether the Rutschebanen rollercoaster might be haunted? Take an extra look over your shoulder if you visit the Hospitalet attraction, which has moved in under the rails. Just mentioning it in passing…

Besides scary stuff, there are always great places to eat, fun rides, lights and colours and lots of cultural experiences awaiting you. That’s how things have always been at Tivoli, the old theme park, and that’s how things will remain when they open for the autumn season with a fantastic (if scary) atmosphere and lots of fantastic decorations.

You can experience Halloween at Tivoli between 11 October and 3 November 2019.

The skeletons are having a party at BonBon-Land

If you weren’t scared out of your wits in Copenhagen, there’s another place you can head for to enjoy some scary fun during the autumn holiday. Head south towards BonBon-Land. In south Zealand they celebrate Halloween with the Skeletons’ Party, which is greatly inspired by the Mexican Festival Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). This is a colourful festival that celebrates both the deceased and life itself.

Halloween at BonBon-Land is open from 12 to 20 October 2019 (10am to 5pm) and on the weekend of 26-27 October 2019. Are you brave enough?

Bloody teeth and treacherous plans for autumn

“A dark curse rests on Egeskov…”. If you have plans to head for the castle during the autumn holiday, we recommend you fill your pockets with garlic and wear a polo neck sweater. That’s because the park at the beautiful Egeskov Castle on the island of Funen has been turned into a huge Halloween universe with mystical creatures, giant spiders and – brrr… none other than Count Dracula himself! And who knows what he’s planning for the autumn holiday…

Halloween at Egeskov Castle offers lots to do for all the family when the park comes to life, when it’s time to bake Danish bonfire bread and carve the pumpkins. Experience it for yourself from 12 to 20 October 2019.

Magical Halloween at Djurs Sommerland

Still in the mood for a spot of scariness after your visit to Funen? If so, take a short trip to one of Denmark’s biggest Halloween events at Djurs Sommerland on the Jutland peninsula!

They love kids at Djurs Sommerland. But they also like scaring them a bit. There are lots of fun and scary experiences for all the family throughout the autumn holiday when Djurs Sommerland opens the doors to HekseSkolen, the Witch School, with floating letters and black-clad witches who lure you into the deepest of darkness… Oooooohhh!

After a terrible storm, there’s also a scary noise from the haunted GræskarFabrikken, Pumpkin Factory. Some advice here to make you shiver: Stay well away from the pots at GræskarFabrikken Scary Haunted House! You might well end up in the soup.

Visit Magical Halloween at Djurs Sommerland from 12 to 20 October 2019.

This is really scary – but you’re guaranteed to have fun as well!
