Requirement in Norway
The OBE must be registered with the correct registration number, vehicle type as well as country code. It cannot subsequently be transferred to another vehicle unless these three pieces of information have been updated.
What this reguirement means for you
The requirement means that if you have vehicles over 3,500 kg to be driven or are already being driven in Norway and equipped with a BroBizz, you must attach the registration number, vehicle type and country code – if this has not already been done. If the vehicles do not have an OBE (e.g. BroBizz), you must get one.
The new regulations mean that if your BroBizz is registered with the wrong information – or no information at all – Norway can issue a fine of NOK 8,000.00. The owner of the vehicle is responsible for complying with the regulations, but the driver of the vehicle is jointly liable in respect of the fine.
What you should do
You should review the data on your BroBizz agreement on vehicles over 3,500 kg, which will drive in Norway, to ensure that all the details are correct. It is important that this is done before 1 January 2015 because fines will be issued if the requirements are not complied with.
